Here are some snapshots from our Trip to Walt Disney World in January 2003.  Mandy and I spent the day in the Magic Kingdom with Mandy’s sister, Jen, her husband Warren, and their two wonderful children, Katie and Mitchell.

Bright and early in the morning, a trolley car full of turn of the century singers greets the guests.

Their bright costumes and wonderful singing starts the day off on the right…..

….wait for it…

note.

Here’s a shot of the horse pulling the trolley.

I know, I know..putting the trolley before the horse.

From there, we went over to Frontier Land.

Here’s what Walt Disney World looks like from the top of Splash Mountain, right before the last plunge:

Off in the distance is the Contemporary Hotel, with the California Grill perched at the top.  To the left is Cinderella’s castle.

From there, we went to Tom Sawyer’s island to the fort.

Here’s Warren and Mitchell walking towards the raft.

Once we got there, Katie and Mitchell manned the walls to protect the fort:

Katie: What do you mean, we have to work here?  I thought we were playing here?

Mitchell: Look at me!  I’m wiggling!

Here Mitchell shares the rifle detail with another frontiers-boy.  Be careful with that red barrel of gunpowder!  No smoking, please.

Way to go, Mitchell!

Give’m heck, Katie!

Curt: I am the very model of a modern Major General…

The fort’s been overrun!  Time to go to the escape tunnel!

Katie: The coast is clear!

Mitchell: Come on, mom!  The clear is coast!

Warren:  It sure is bright out here.  Where did I put my sunglasses?

Curt: I’m still the very model of a …oh, never mind. 8)

From there, we stopped for a snack and fed the birds:

Later on, we went to dinner at the Portofino Bay Hotel (*gasp*) __off property___ (sacrelige, I know).

The strolling musicians asked us what we would like to hear.

Hmm…Italian restaurant…Disney-holic that I am…could it be…Bella Notte??  Could be!

They even howled on cue!

After a great dinner, we went outside to the Italian square;

Where Mitchell was burning off his extra calories:

Mandy, you’re leading him with the camera too much…

Ahh, that’s better.

Afterwards, we went back to the Marriott to check out the new hotel:

They’ve got skeeball!  How cool is that?

And here are Jen, Warren, Katie and Mitchell all together:

And then the Giblin women (and kids)

Hey, where’s the flash setting?

Ahh, that’s better.
