arenas
The
HUD supports 8 cars at once, with four 15 degree ramps allowing mid to high
speed jumps.
The
walls offer LOS cover, and the open areas allow for high speed turns.
Point
are often awarded for jumps, and the central HUD and nearby areas are often
zones where the use of dropped weapons is penalized.
The
Double Drum areans supports 8 cars at once.
The narrow chokepoints allow for effective use of dropped weapons, and
the wide turns and tight quarters make races and rams popular.
The
Aspen Octogan Arena, home of several World Duelling Championships, supports 8
cars in all-out combat with checkpoints, narrow alleys and wide open spaces.
The
St. Louis Arch allows under-over combat for 4 cars at once.
The
Warrior arena allows 8 cars to fight in 4 separate quadrants, and a middle
platform.
Four
Leaf Clover is a high speed racing/duel hybrid arena. The green areas are sloped to provide a –D2 to all bends done
towards the column, +D2 to bends away from the column, +D2 to drifts towards
the column and –D2 to drifts down away from the column. Cross the red band inflicts a D2
hazard. With no guardrail along the
upper edge, it is possible for a car to drive (or be pushed) off the top to
disappear altogether.
Lady
Luck being what she is, contestants prepare for the worst. Each turn, a random number of 1 inch squares
are dropped 1 inch game scale, even if a car is on it! Eventually, cars continue the fight on the
lower level as enough squares drop to connect one car to the next.
A
high speed multiple drum arena, duel/race hyrbids are the norm here.
Taking
a slightly good idea and extending to a ludicris level, this 3X3 drum layout
looks forward to it’s maiden test run.
A
recent addition, look for Sudden Death in a PBEM coming soon to an arena near
you.
