Duel 13:

HANDS OFF MY NUGGETS!

HOT and STEAMY Convoy on Convoy action!

Here are the REAL rules for the event!

Ok, technically I didn't lie about the attackers. They're just way different from what you imagined. It's convoy against convoy!!!

You suddenly see the other convoy as two highways merge into one. Only characters with Driver or Trucker +1 may accelerate this turn.

So, with Fat Mancy's last message, the rules change a little bit. The first convoy to make it to her truck stop with sufficient cargo will be declared the winner. You don't HAVE to shoot at one another, naturally. This can be a simple race through traffic. Consider the potential repercussions of that first shot fired in anger!

:)

[And, well...there's no guarantee that there won't be other road 'hazards' either.]

There are several NEW victory conditions:

1- Dump the other team's convoy.
2- Get at least 1/3 of your cargo into the truckstop 13 map sections away.
3- Reduce the other team's cargo to less than 1/3. (This may still be done with your escorts if your convoy is dumped- resulting in a stalemate.)
4- If both companies should get to the truckstop with plenty of cargo, then the distributor will buy the load that's less damaged.

The wholesale distributor will turn your convoy away at the gate if you have less than 1/3 of your cargo.

[Original rules.]

Your team gets four stock trucks (see below) plus $65,000 to add/arrange weapons and/or design escort vehicles. (IMPORTANT: Remember to add 10% to any new weapons or accessories you may retrofit into the trucks. Also, selling the original parts will only give you back HALF of the book value. The chassis may not be modified.) Actually, it may be a good idea to keep a few bucks left over for food, gas, etc.

AADA rules, I'm afraid, do apply.

Your convoy is representing an established trucking company who understands the needs of their employees, so each crew member is allowed, if so desired, one personal sidearm. (Sidearm means a singular one-handed weapon.) No other personal weapons will be allowed.

Arrange your convoy any way you like within a 2"x9" area. The attackers may come from any direction, so be ready for anything.

Starting speed will be 60mph. (Make sure your escorts, if any, can go at least this fast.)

Other highway travelers will be moving at 50mph. They will make no more than a D2 maneuver to avoid the oncoming battle. As your convoy approaches each traveler will have an ever increasing chance of noticing the battle and moving out of the way. Of course, if there's a little old lady on the road she may not notice a damn thing. Any traveler fired upon, or collided with, will fire back with whatever weapons they may have. Most of the travellers will be in known stock vehicles that have seen print. If asked, I can give the make and model, but no other info. It's up to you to do the research to determine whether or not that car should be avoided. :)

Successive map sections will be randomly chosen from an assorted pile. As the vehicles move forward (or more specifically- when the first truck reaches the halfway point on the last map), another map will be added and the last section taken away. The map will 'scroll' from right to left as the vehicles will seem to stay centered in the action.

The focus of the map will remain with the convoy. That means any vehicles that drift too far forward (i.e. off the map) will be ignored. Focus will mean a fair sized chunk of the battle held purely at my discretion. Too far will be considered more than 1 full map section beyond the focus. This also means that slower moving or damaged vehicles will get 'dumped' from the game. Any vehicle that is dumped is out of play for good. (Therefore, the map image may change in length. As the game progresses, I will figure out the best maximun map size- say, perhaps no more than 3 road sections [30 inches], so you'll know when you're getting close to being dumped.)

Each truck is carrying as cargo 26 cases of Chocolate Algae Nuggets. Each case takes up one space and has 4DP.

All walls are indestructible. The light grey walls are three feet high and block weapons fire except for turrets. The dark grey walls are fifteen feet high and block all fire. Shadows are from overhead bridges or structures. They are 20 feet high, so don't worry about them unless you find yourself airborne. The big trees have 20DP and the small have 8DP.
(I'll give updated stats as new/different road sections appear.)

The shoulder of the road is littered with crap and will add a D1 to any hazard or maneuver.

Off-road rules apply while and if off-road.

Check out the notes section.

The stock truck used by your convoy company is as follows:

Fnord Safety Mover- 10-wheel longnose cab: hvy chassis, medium truck power plant, 10 solid truck tires, trucker, gunner, 2 linked RR's in cab turret, dual-weapon mag for RR's, fire extinguisher, 2 10pt Wheelhubs and 2 10pt Wheelguards for front tires, 150lbs and 3 spaces for cargo, Oversized Vehicle Airfoils on cab, 214pts armor.
15' van carrier: 2 linked RL's in carrier turret, fire extinguisher, dual-weapon mag for RL's, 1200lbs and 26 spaces of cargo (chocolate algae nuggets), Oversized Vehicle Airfoils on carrier, 120pts armor.
Accel 2.5/5, top speed 102.5, HC 1, 18150lbs, $72318.

The 26 spaces of cargo may not be moved or altered.

No personal equipment is included in the price and weight of the truck.

This is worth repeating: (Remember to add 10% to any new weapons or accessories you may retrofit into the trucks. Also, selling the original parts will only give you back HALF of the book value. The chassis may not be modified.)
