Duel 14:

CAPTURE THE NUGGET!

Sponsored by Chocolate Algae Nuggets ô

Two teams: the Nutty Browns and the Hearty Yellows. Each start from the 5 gates on their side of the arena. Points are scored by stealing the other team's Chocolate Algae Nugget and returning it to your base. You may only score if your own nugget is safe and sound at your base. If a member of the other team has stolen your nugget, you must kill the driver before you can score. Once the driver is killed, your team's nugget instantly returns to your base. You may not pass the nugget between fellow teammates. If a teammate is on foot, you may give up your vehicle, or have him jump in, or on, your vehicle to return him to the base. (This will not affect the chassis' max weight.)

Design a driver-only $12,500 vehicle. No AADA rules apply. At any time you may get a fresh vehicle, either by pressing the self-destruct button on your dash or by getting killed. The fresh vehicle appears from a random gate on your team's side of the arena the next phase, travelling between 20 and 40mph. You may also self-destruct while on foot. You will always start in the vehicle you designed.

Points:
+10: capturing a nugget
-1: getting killed
-2: self-destruct

All dropped weapons disappear after 3 turns, no matter if it's gas, liquid, solid, or car hulk. Debris and obstacles produced from damage will not be used in this event. If a JD is used, the debris will also disappear after 3 turns.

The enemy's nugget will appear attached to the back of your vehicle. It in no way affects weapons or ramming, but only shows who has possession.

There is a no-dropped-weapon zone around each base. Any dropped weapons placed on or in the white circles will simply disappear. To capture an enemy's nugget, you only have to touch it with your vehicle. To drop it at your base and score points, the entire nugget counter must pass into your team's inner colored circle (see above: the trike is about to score with the Yellow's nugget).

Arena Notes:

All walls are indestructible. The unused gates have been sealed. The mounds on the arena floor are ¼" tall and sport a 15-degree ramp, making jumping possible, and also blocking most weapons fire.
